Transformers Formed

24 Jan

It was all very exciting to embark on this new Youthopea program. The program was designed to raise awareness towards critical social issues amongst youth, equip them with skills to communicate these issues in video format and campaign for these videos to make an impact.

First week in and we had our very own Pastor Dave deliver the message to launch the program. We were all encouraged to be the catalysts, who would embark on a journey of making a difference.

All of us were pumped and energised. We were ready to start our journey.

We chose our team name – Transformers, with a genuine desire to be able to transform lives.

One thing we all have in common…

“Unity is not about similarity, but embracing cultural diversity” – Embrace

Hi! :)

We are a team of young adults from a non-profit organisation, Hope Mission Centre, who are enthusiastic and passionate about raising the importance of EMBRACING people from all different walks of life!

But who are these people? It’s people like you and I, who make up this diversE and vibrant Australia! Did you know: 50% of Australian population are either born or have one parent born overseas? (ABS)

That makes Australia one of the most culturally diverse countries in the world! And thanks to our cultural differences, we can now enjoy the array of good foods, cultural music, sports and fashion that we have today!

One thing we all have in common, is that we are all different! God has made us all different and unique, and we can work together to make something GREATER! :)

Romans 12:4-5 —> “For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we , though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another”

Every part of the body is important! No member is too small, we all contribute to Australia in some way :)

So what are some of your favourite things about Australia? What’s your favourite food or music?

We would love to hear from you!

Remember, one thing we all have in common is that we are all different, celebrate it everyday!

Love,

Embrace

Recipe for Success

21 May

Although worldly success such as having your dream job or being the richest person in the world may seem ideal, it is fleeting and temporary. God gives us the recipe for success:

Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. (Joshua 1:7)

As we grow in our relationship with God, trusting and obeying Him, success will surely come.

Aim, Train and Sustain

14 May

Steph shared an encouraging word on success through three simple steps: aim, train and sustain. All of us are running a race, we must keep our eyes fixed on the goal of salvation for everyone we know. To keep running, we must train daily by spending time in prayer and reading the Word. Never give up, and we will finish the race with success.

God’s Master Plan!

6 Feb

With flags and clues everywhere you turned, Steph and her team, May, Pat, Cham and Tony had Youthopea running a truly amazing race!

and… we’re back!

30 Jan

Youthopea is now back for 2012! As we all gathered for the first Youthopea of the year, it was awesome to be reunited with the Friday nights we’ve all known and missed, especially after the long break. Beginning with praise and worship and followed by a kicker of a game (literally!)

Jono and the team did an excellent job at sharing the word; reminding us to kick off our year with a clear, God-driven goal and to always be reminded of them so that we won’t lose sight at what we had envisioned at the beginning.

What a mighty word it was, so don’t miss out on next week’s Youthopea!
